Driving and a Giveaway

I've been riding around with our youngest as he works on driving..he passed the exam just fine and has his permit...I think he's going to be an excellent driver....I was nervous to begin with but he made me feel comfortable after a few minutes....we drove around quite a bit today and he will probably be taking the driving test in a week or two once he gets more confidence....he's growing up so fast now...hard to let go as it always is with your youngest but I am coping......he thanks everyone for the prayers and now asks to pray about this job offer coming up...its a wonderful opportunity for him..and a career maker...

I wanted to tell you about this nice giveaway...at the Rusty Thimble...
this darling snowman makedo....would look great in my cabinet but then it would look great in anyone's...I am not very lucky but perhaps you are...please take a look at her wonderful creations while you're signing up.....she has giveaways  twice a month! I do love snowmen.....

I've been busy stitching some fall and Halloween goodies....got some fall fabrics at Walmart..they are the only ones around here with fabric ..our local Michaels has zero...I have a table mat and a Halloween candle mat almost finished....but needed backing for them...is it just our neck of the woods or is it a more common thing not to have fabric stores around? JoAnns does carry fabric but it's quite a drive to ours and then the lines to get it cut and then another line to pay for it, is a real turnoff...

  1. My nephew also has his learner's permit. My Mother allows him to drive with her. He needs a stick shift I believe though also.

  2. I understand Dani about the driving permits (did it 9 times) I thik the hardest part is looking over and seeing your child behind the wheel and you are a passenger :)
The really hard part is letting them go off on there own when they get the licence and you know they are not that aware of other crazy drivers and hearing sirens go off at 10:30 P M and wondering where they are. I think it was a lot easier for our parents many years ago...not so many crazy drivers or speeders back then :)

  3. hard to find fabric and supplies almost anywhere - even our local Gibson's which used to keep lots of crafts (embroidery, crochet, sewing) supplies is cutting back - guess fewer and fewer people are making things since stores respond to demand. Bless your son - you and Alan have raised good responsible young men.

  4. We lost our fabric stores here, but we do have a Hobby Lobby and it carries fabrics, batting, etc. At a high price!

Congrats to your son on passing his test to get his permit! I just put my hands over my face, sink down and whimper whenever my son drives. I find it's best not to look.

  5. Glad to hear your youngest is such a safe driver, Dani. Hope the job works out- if not, God has a better one out there for him.

I feel your pain about buying fabric- my Walmart just closed and moved into a bigger building (a Superstore- NOT) and wouldn't you know- they will not be having a fabric dept in the new one. And JoAnn's in Knoxville (45 minutes form me) is such a pain- they are always crowded and SO EXPENSIVE.

  6. I didn't realize that you have a child young enough to just be driving. Oh, my, I remember those days! Be brave!
