Thursday, Proud and Free

This was the largest re-enlistment ceremony ever held in military history..did you see this on TV? no? That's because it wasn't shown.
This was held on the 4th of July this year at Al -Faw Palace, in Baghdad, Iraq. Over 1200 military men and woman re-inlisted with General David Patraeus administering the oath. Afterwards they had pizza and Gatorade....
Several newspapers reported the event but it wasn't on television...mostly they report about the bad things that happen not the good...
Many reenlisted for the money but also because they believe in what they are doing, some are on two and three tours in a combat zone.

  2. Thank you for sharing this Dani - I never thought I'd become one of those people bemoaning the horrible "media" - but here I am - there really are millions of us who believe in God, Family and Country - unashamedly. Praying we all vote - and pray - probably pray first.
