We are waiting for the mailman so thought I'd post a little.....Alan snipped off a small branch of our fig tree and put it in some water to see what would happen as an experiment..and well, you can see the result...we may have the makings for another tree....he is going to be putting it in a pot with some good potting soil soon....we never knew you could plant a tree like this but evidently you can..figs are very hearty vigorous growers...as they are pretty trees, it would be fun to have one inside...

My kitchen looks like a nursery as I have egg cartons and other containers filled with seedlings and seeds...the summer squash is up.
Its been really raining alot yesterday and again today...so far in our yard, we've gotten over 3 inches since January...its supposed to dry out now but there are storms forecasted again next weekend. The tomatoes, cabbage and lettuce we planted outside are okay...soggy but look happy. We've been covering them about every night against frost.
Not a whole lot going on right now...Alan had one job this morning and again one this afternoon...both of these are invoices and no cash....we had a job yesterday also in San Diego so we are busy most of the time. We are both praying that God will open the floodgates and we will open the mailbox to checks today.....and for the rest of this week....

Thank you Lord...just a report...we got 3 checks today so can pay our mortgage! God is good...

  1. I have two kinds of bok choy up and almost two leaves on each seedling. Also have 3 kinds of tomatoes sprouting under a grow light. in a week I'll start the squash and some flowers indoors - we are doing all container gardening this year so it'll be an experiment! Exciting about your fig tree sprout - I have a fig tree planted last fall - waiting for it to begin to sprout - we desperately need rain but none in the forecast.

  2. Just came across your blog today. Isn't fantastic how the Lord always provides just when we need it? He is so good.

  3. That is cool about your fig tree. I'm jealous that you are gardening, lol, I can't wait till it is warm enough here to start growing veggies. Thank you for your comments on my blog, its nice to know that there are people out there reading my blog.
