Road Trip, Borrego Springs...

I had posted this yesterday but as you probably know..Blogger fairies decided to delete posts for the 13th....sigh so here we go again.....
we were called to go to Borrego Springs, Ca to re key a foreclosure..Its a 87 mile trip one way for us but the agent was agreeable to our fee so away we went!
We've been to just about all the deserts of Southern California..and I wondered if this desert, the Anza-Borrego, would be just as invaded by invasive plants as the others...we were pleasantly surprised to see a pristine desert floor with all native plants..or at least what we could notice from the road......and after all the wet weather we had..the desert was blooming....
Borrego Springs is in the middle of the Anza-Borrego State Park...its a small unincorporated town...no big box stores and very quiet living....as we drove through, we really appreciated the mountain scenes...
The house was darling, very southwest, notice the ladder on the right which goes up to the roof.......totally natural landscaping...
not much of a water bill here! there is a drip system for the few plants that need it......inside, the southwest theme continued...
The previous owner left behind baskets and those two drums....two bedrooms, one bath...the house is in a golf course..where there are tennis courts and a large pool..I found out later, that the house sells for about $67,000 which isn't bad at all....
Also the house has several private outside patio areas..this one was off one of the bedrooms and there is another at the back of the  house....

As we were finishing, got another call from the same realtor who had another house up in the mountains near here so away we went...that post will be tomorrow....the total mileage was 180 miles when we got home..phew! great job though to see such wonderful places and get paid for it!

  3. Oh, my! It looks like a beautiful place and only $67,000! That is cheap for a decent home around here. Unbelievable.....
And Alan's job must be really great, since you get to spend so much time with him.
BTW~ garden is in and I am making strawberry-rhubarb jam tomorrow. We have been picking radishes and asparagus every day. That's how we roll here in Iowa!
    Have a super weekend!
