Brush Fire...

The other day, we got a job call in Del Mar, Ca...on the interstate 15, came across a brush fire on the side of the freeway....these are always a little tricky for the fire department as the hillsides are so steep and rocky...and of course, the environmentalists have made it almost impossible now to drop fire retardants ...even though there is no water anywhere near to pollute.....this makes it more hazardous for the fire fighters.....
My new camera is great, but doesn't zoom in as well as my old one did......did manage to get a couple of photos....
you can see several fire fighters making their way up the steep bank....not fun work but on our way back...the fire was out and all was well...they are amazing workers!

  1. Glad the fire is out. It is a little early for fire season. Lets hope Southern California has few fires this summer.

  2. Happy to hear the fire is out. I think fires are worse that hurricanes and they could be prevented if people just were a little more considerate. Leaving soon for meeting at shelter..will let you know how it goes. I wish it was as easy to leave comments in other blogs as it is yours :)

  3. Our fire season has already started. Wind and very low humidity made for Red Flag warnings all week. I`m sure California won`t be far behind. Nice pictures Dani.

  4. Good to see it didn' t spread too much.

On Easter afternoon , someone set a pile of wood stacked in a corner of our church comound on fire - it was an act of persecxution clearly in retaliation of the outreach we had on Saturday. It took several hours to put the fire out. Even after thagt it was smouldering for 3 days. But God saved our property.
