I am posting this in the evening..we had a nice day...very windy, a Santa Ana wind//one minute it would be blowing all the neighborhood leaves into our yard, and then a few minutes later, the wind would change and away the leaves would go down the street to another yard. The weather people say we are in for rain again..

No work today, as Alan was able to get paperwork done...working on profit and loss monthly sheets which isn't fun so we took a break in the afternoon and went Christmas tree shopping..yes, I know what you're thinking, already?

No buying, just checking out prices....everything, I mean almost everything was either destroyed in the fire or is still in storage...our beautiful tree is gone...melted...as are all our outdoor lights, and yard decor.....we are taking this as an opportunity to do something different. It was fun looking. Most of the stores are all decorated already and others are putting their things out. I'm sure its the same where you live. We're so thankful that it was only material things that were destroyed.....

We bought advent calenders for the boys and their girlfriends which we will give at the end of the month..they are the kind that have candy behind each door.....

As it will be Sunday when you'll be reading this (hope you changed your clocks back)
..Casting Crowns singing, Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus....so true, so true...

  1. Hey girlie, I don't know what color tree you had before... but you should try one of those white ones. I got one at Walmart, a prelit/wired one, it was around $30. It is about 5' tall and I just love it! It looks so dreamy covered in pinks and the softer colors that I'm so into right now!

  2. I've been looking at trees also - but don't have the good reason you have (loss from a fire) - we gave our BIG artificial tree away last year - simply too much trouble to put up and decorate and take down when we really don't "DO" much Christmasy stuff - for us it is a religious holiday and we don't have much family to share holidays with. Anyhow - still lusting for one of those prelit ones - not ready to part with the money to get one!
