My dear friend, Nancy..is having a secret giveaway and needs you to sign up.....she always has such wonderful pincushions and such...wonder what it will be? She is giving away one of her potato bags and filling it with goodies so what are you waiting for? I have quite a few of her bags for storage..two different sizes for potatoes, one for onions and another for oranges....I love them and they keep vegetables and fruits for longer than the store plastic..I even have one hanging from my pot rack with my collection of cooky cutters in it....out of the way but handy for when I get the urge...so get over to Inside Nanas Head...
Just listed another black work design..this one is from Home Berries...rather prim..and a simple message....you'll find this under the blackwork button at Sweet Home Stitchery...and if you haven't already signed up for my giveaway.....please do...only a few days now to the drawing.....
We're being flooded with work right now...God does answer prayer...today we had 4 jobs...locksmiths make good money, its just a matter of being called for jobs....thank you...I can feel the prayers lifting us up....tomorrow we have3 more at least..plus more lined up for next week....one job today was for a tri-plex..3 little cottage type houses..for a total of 18 locks..quite a job....we had to be careful and mark each set of locks so we knew where they belonged to which house...we met the owner as the houses had just cleared escrow..he was going to live in the front house and rent out the other two....
We did get one call on the van and the young man seemed interested...but when Alan called him back this evening, he wasn't home.
This weekend I'll catch up on house work....working with Alan every day leaves little time for that....but I think he appreciates me helping out....I've gotten fairly good at taking off and putting on locks..unless I run into something difficult which I then back off and let him deal with it. Some people find it unusual to see a woman installing locks but its not rocket science!

Friday.. The Door Devil...
I'm a fan of the Door Devil on Facebook..and was delighted to get an email from Nick at Door Devil letting me know I won a Door Devil..a few days later, it came in a large box..they were so nice..they gave us two!....it took Alan about 45 minutes to put it in...we are going to be featuring these in our business and hopefully it will give us a boost in sales....I really believe in this product....
A few years ago now, the boys cub scout leader came home to find her front door kicked open and her home virtually torn apart...if she had a door devil, this wouldn't have happened....one of the worse experiences a person can have (besides losing your house completely) is getting robbed like this........
.The Supreme Court in their "wisdom" decided that California will have to release 47,000 prisoners because they didn't get good medical care..(actually they get better care than most Californians get but that's another story)...I think if you live in our state...you need to get a Door Devil on every exterior door.....no one will be able to kick in your doors.....which is the most common way thieves break in...dead bolts are excellent but without a Door Devil, the door frame can't stand up to a good heavy kick...most thieves use this method of gaining access even with homes with security systems..they figure they'll be in and out before the police can get there.....and they are right in many cases.....
Call Alan's Residential Lock if you are reading this and are in Riverside County....otherwise, you can order one from the company...you need to know how to use a drill, and have some woodworking/assembly skill but its not real difficult.....we just charge a service call + cost of the Door Devil..and a small installation fee...
Thanks for the kind words and prayers...we are told we should get alot more business next week....but only one call so far on the van.....sigh....I know we will eventually sell it but anytime soon would be very good indeed.

This is an actual photo taken outside of Bakersfield, Ca this year...our hillsides here in Menifee, and Lake Elsinore looked much the same about two months ago...Alan and I tramped around the hillsides taking photos but ours just didn't come out as nice as this one...It was like God tookout a paintbrush. There are many little dirt back roads to explore here not far from our house.
Doesn't take much gas and a fun thing to do. Thanks Kay for the photo!
Alan has a job this morning down by the Pechaga Indian Casino....its a bit of a drive...but not bad. He has quite a few jobs yesterday and probably get more calls today. He has another job in Hemet too. We weren't able to see the van yesterday so I called and set up an appointment for tomorrow. I'll just have to set aside some time in the morning and schedule appointments in the afternoon. A lot of locksmiths don't work weekends but we do. We also work evenings until about 8 or 9. We've gotten several call from people who have locked themselves out of their houses in the evening..We actually have returning customers..as this one house has 3 room mates and they constantly lock themselves out of their rooms...they call and say "its us again".
I think Alan's been out there 4 or 5 times.
Its gray and cool this morning...cool enough for a light jacket...no sun yet, I hope it comes out soon...I planted hollyhocks last year, they are the kind that don't bloom the first year..this year they've sent out tall spikes and there are buds so hope they bloom soon...one spike is over 9 ft. tall! we will post photos when they bloom. Alan planted giant mammoth sunflowers too which are growing nicely...
I won some moon flower seeds and plan on planting them along our side fence line...its very blank right now. I am not real familiar with moon flowers but from the photos and from what others say, they should do well here. Has anyone had any experience with them? We are zone
8b almost 9....the fence really needs something...its about 100 ft. long..I will have 150 seeds so that should be enough, I would think. Are they fussy about soil requirements? I was wondering if I needed to get some potting soil and work it in along the fence..there is lawn up to about 4 -5 inches from the fence.
