A Point Loma Cottage and Houses!

Yesterday we were asked to re key a escrow house in Point Loma, which is a lovely area of San Diego...not far  from where I lived back in the 1950s as a child......this little cottage is just beautiful...wood floors throughout, original woodwork..and has just sold for $575,000..thought you might like to see what  you'd get..

the kitchen needs a bit of work but not much...outside of the kitchen on the right is a breakfast nook that is darling...didn't get a photo sorry....

we both agreed that if we would ever win the lottery a little cottage here would be ideal for us...it also had a large backyard surrounded by palms and tropical plants...

and to top it all off....parrots!

There is a small flock nesting in the trees..very noisy birds but interesting..evidently the weather here is mild enough for them to flourish....
as we left, we snapped a few photos of some of the houses...

many of the homes here are Spanish style from the 1920s and 30s...

I took this photo so you can see the light poles down the center of the streets at each intersection...these are old and quite unique..if you click on the photo, you can see them more clearly , very quiet streets, and sunny skies..

San Diego is a wonderful city to visit...its been called one of the most beautiful large cities in America....there is alot to see here....from the famous zoo, Balboa park with its museums, the harbor with ship tours, swimming and the beaches, the mission, and much more....

we always dread having to go to Los Angeles but look forward to San Diego....
