Wednesday Pet of the Week

Introducing Diamond, a toy poodle..who was given up because she is deaf and nine years old..she is a sweet girl, gentle and functions well in spite of her disability..sad that people can't treat their pets like family....I wouldn't give up a family member because they were deaf, would you? She would be a nice companion and gets along well with the other dogs..she has a sweet face, doesn't she?
Sun City K-9 Dog rescue is non-profit and takes donations...please check out their website (my son's creation) and thanks to all who have generously donated to help.

  1. Oh my..I don't understand how people can do that either Dani...not only is she deaf but now she must be confused as to why she is not in her home anymore. She looks just like our little Poodle "Keoki" (aka Oakie") and she was deaf for many years before she passed away. She was a very sweet little dog and Bianca and Annie watched over her constantly. She was almost 16 when she passed away from Heart Failure. We had her creaeated and she is in a nice can on a shelf in our bedroom. Still miss her and think about her every day. I framed a picture of her and dried a few flowers (Panseys) and gave it to Billy for an anniversary gift about 4 years ago. Her picture is on a shelf right above his desk where he can see her every day (with other pets pics that are now gone to Heaven).
Still miss her every day and have many good memories. I hope some caring person takes Diamond home and Loves her.

  2. How precious!! We had a heeler who was deaf. She learned hand signals on her own, and went on to be the best herding dog we ever had!! Her being deaf never was a problem. She finally died of old age.....just the way it should be.

    Hugs,
    Vic
